Two very cool awards from the Estate of Vincent Price. On the left is his Grim
Reaper award, inducting him into the Horror Hall of Fame. On the right, an award
from Fangoria Magazine and Creation Entertainment for his work in horror. When
Vincent Price was at a Fangoria Weekend of Horrors convention to discuss Edward
Scissorhands, Fangoria presented him with this award for his contributions to
the horror genre. I was in the audience that day and Price was so pleased with
the award, he went back to center stage and read "The Conqueror Worm" by Edgar
Allen Poe followed by a standing ovation. Price was physically weak at the time,
but read the poem with incredible energy.
These two paintings were used in Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine. While giving a tour of his castle, Vincent described the paintings as distant relatives. Purchased from Ellis Props. Left painting for sale in Profiles In History December 2006.
Four Awards once presented to Vincent Price.
