Screen used machete from the Ted V. Mikels' classic film The Astro-Zombies. This machete was one of only two made for the film. Machete is made of wood, painted black and autographed by the film's Director, Ted V. Mikels. Comes with a letter of authenticity signed by Ted.

Hair Piece Make Up Appliance

Location # HR
Screen used hair appliance with LOA from the film's makeup artist, Harry Thomas. Wow, what can I say about this film? Astronauts travel to the moon and discover a race of beautiful cat women who haven't seen a man in years. The cat women have plans to take over Earth and even keep a giant moon spider in the cave to protect their moon gold. My friend, Harry Thomas, did the make up for this film in 1953. When I asked him about his favorite memory working on the film, he told me that he had designed the make up for the cat women. The producers hired beauty queens to play the cat women and asked Harry to make the women beautiful and exotic, on a very low budget with very little time of course. Harry designed, created, and applied these hair and latex appliances to each woman's forehead, giving her a widow's peak. The hair was then combed back with her wig. Harry also recalled that several actresses usually became frustrated after a long day of filming, and quickly ripped the appliances off, either unknowing or uncaring that Harry would have to repair and reuse the appliance for the next days filming. This is my last remaining hair appliance. Also, an original 8x10 photo.

Vincent Price gives a tour of his castle to Frankie Avalon and another actor, then points to the painting and says, "This is my great, great, great grandfather, the most blood-thirsty pirate ever to be hung, drawn and quartered." The painting is obviously Vincent Price as the main character in The House of Usher with some added facial hair. The painter once told me, the 3 paintings of Price seen in the film were meant as tributes to the actor, not as set dressings. Somehow all three ended up as part of the Ellis Prop inventory, which they sold off on eBay when the company went out of business. This painting and the other, now sold, represent my greatest eBay find.

Head of Dr. DeMarco With Working Light and Blood Tubes.

Location # HR
Head of Dr. Demarco with working light, air and green blood hoses. This prop has a great story behind it. My friend Jay Gowey, creator of this prop, the astro-zombie masks and machetes, were trying to think of a way to tie the original Astro-Zombies to Mark of the Astro-Zombies. Jay's first idea was a skeleton in a gold bikini. Fans of the original Astro-Zombies will remember a young lady wearing a gold bikini, strapped to a table. Dr. Demarco's evil assistant tortures her during the movie. However, when the police raid the castle and kill the bad guys, they never show the girl in the bikini being rescued, or if she was dead or alive. Jay and I both agreed that a skeleton in a gold bikini might be too obscure for many fans to catch. He eventually thought about displaying a life mask of John Carradine (Dr. DeMarco) hanging on a wall. Cool idea but we wanted more. Eventually Jay offered to build the head of Dr. DeMarco and stick it inside of a pickle jar. I offered to purchase the John Carradine life mask and have it shipped to Jay if I was allowed to keep the finished prop after the film wrapped. When the life mask arrived, we discovered it was made from resin, not plaster, so the dead floated in the pickle jar and would be difficult to film. Jay offered to build a build a life support collar with flashing light to simulate his voice speaking. Next, we needed an actor to speak the voice of John Carradine and some clever dialog. I needed a man with a deep, distinguished, Shakespearian type voice, who was also a fan of John Carradine. My friend, Robert Taylor, wrote some clever and funny dialog and performed the voice. The dialog was so good, that during the time when Ted was looking to trim dialog to keep the action moving, Ted was so impressed, me kept much of it in and even performed a scene with the talking head of Dr. DeMarco.

Teeth, Eyes, Wig and Keybook Photos

Location # HR
Teeth, eyes and wig made by Harry Thomas. Comes with 3 original keybook stills (one signed by Harry) and one posed photo of Harry touching up the make up (also signed). My friend Harry Thomas was most proud of this film. The transformation scene of the Neanderthal Man was Harry's tribute to Jack Pierce's scene, transforming Lon Chaney Jr. into The Wolfman.

Shotgun Used to Kill "Ben"

Location # HR
This is the shotgun from the original George A. Romero classic, Night of the Living Dead. It was the weapon used at the end of the film, to shoot the character, "Ben", played by Dewayne Jones. Many of the weapons used in the film were supplied by George Kostana, who also played the sheriff in the film. Weapon comes with a signed LOA from George. The firing pin has been removed by George and this can be shipped by FedEx as a non-functioning weapon. A replacement firing pin can be purchased at a gun store or show, to make the weapon operational, if the top bidder wishes.

Little Girl "Hunter" and Weapon from Pandorum

Location # HR
I just bought this from The Prop Store of London so I am going to use their photos until I am able to properly display this amazing costume and hero metal weapon worn and used by young actress Asia Luna Mohmand. She was the director's daughter and one of the scariest "hunters" in the 2009 film. If you haven't seen Pandorum yet, I highly recommend you purchase the DVD. The film is new and refreshing during these times of remakes and sequels. The Director's vision of long distance space travel and a cold, painful awakening from hyper sleep was brilliant!
